The Relay for Life is a 24 hour Cancer walk that is held all over the United States. It is sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The Roxborough Relay is in its 9th year, and thanks to tons of support we grow every year. Both in participation and money raised. in 2010 our event raised over $45,000. It is held at Roxborough H.S. track, with a bunch of different teams assembled for fund-raising. The way it works is that a member of your team must be on the track walking or running for 24 hours, while the rest of your team sets up a booth and does more fund-raising. You can camp out all well. There is an "Illuminary Ceremony", where candles are lit all around the track in memory of loved ones who are no longer with us, and there is a survivor walk. All the living cancer survivors get together and go a few laps. It is really an awesome, emotional, and overwhelming experience. Team Joywalkers raised $5,544.59. Our Team was the second place fundraiser. We thank you for your support!

Cancer does not discriminate. It does not care if you are Black, White, Yellow, or Green. Cancer does not care if you are African-American, Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian, etc. Cancer kills!! Sometimes fast, most times slow and painful for both victim and family. Help support us and cancer research, and donate today. Even $1 will go further than you can possibly imagine.
